Jordan Hasay to Race Garry Bjorklund Half MarathonPublished by
Jordan Hasay to Run Half Marathon in Minnesota as She Continues to Shake Off the Rust Following a Year-Long InjuryBy Adam Kopet The Duluth News Tribune reports Jordan Hasay will compete in next month's Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon. The news comes a day after Hasay was officially announced for the 2019 Chicago Marathon. She had already indicated in her post-Boston Marathon comments that she intended to return to Chicago in the fall. Hasay is continuing her comeback from two stress fractures in 2018 that kept her from racing for a year. She missed both of her scheduled 2018 marathons with injury. Despite racing three times so far this year, including finishing third at the Boston Marathon, Hasay will continue to attempt to find her previous speed. The Bjorklund Half Marathon is held as part of the Grandma's Marathon race weekend in Duluth, Minn. The course record is held by Kara Goucher, who ran 1:09:46 in 2012. Hasay has a best of 1:07:55, although she ran 1:11:06 in her first race back from injury at the Roma-Ostia Half Marathon. Both the Bjorklund Half Marathon and the Grandma's Marathon are scheduled for June 22. |
